Some Souls Church Blessing and Light! at Black Cat The Saturday before Christmas I attended Blessings and Light! at Black Cat, a Christmas eve mass service if you will... In all seriousness, its nowhere near a religious service. Its Some Souls Church, a variety act that "welcomes all sinners (even minorities) to get the pews sticky at Church Night." The cast of Some Souls consist of

Jonny Grave @ Black Cat 12.21.13Jonny Grave @ Black Cat 12.21.13 The night played out as if it were a mid-western church holiday mass service including a sermon, music, and blessed shots and tots.
After some words of praise, singer, songwriter, and solo guitarist Jonny Grave performed a short set. Grave charmed those in attendance with his slide guitar and folk tunes and even ended his part with walking among the seated to sing his last tune.

Next in the lineup of entertainment was that of burlesque dancer Pria Puss, who had a very festive holiday act.

Reverend Bidet took a moment for a very impromptu Some Souls jam session with members of The North Country, who later played at the end of the night.

Of course the night couldn't be entirely serious, there needed to be some sort of fun and games. This is where Sara Armour, DC local comedian, came in with her comic relief.

Yes! Shots and tots. As in a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey and a tot, as in a tater tot.
